Good story! I'm from Vancouver Island and the cost of housing is horrendously expensive! Food and energy costs are rising as well. Most people are either sitting in a 3 bedroom family home that is worth a million and cash poor, or renting a hovel for $3000 CAD/month and still cash poor. Many Canadians are in massive debt and live paycheck to paycheck or rely on family to supplement their income if they are fortunate enough to be able to. There is no emphasis on family life nor sharing a multi-generation family home. This country is tanking fast! But like a lot of places, real estate and investments help. Mind you, what is it like for the poor who live in Singapore? I'm going to guess the poor in Canada have a higher standard of living.
