I speak after a pause. My husband thinks I'm interrupting, but he pauses in the middle of a thought, then gets upset when he thinks he's being interrupted. Funny thing is, he interrupts others frequently when they are in mid-sentence, especially in social situations. This can be a social queue issue that might be related to adhd or a similar neurological difference. Overlapping is different of course, but my husband sees it as the same as a typical rhythmic back and for between two individuals, yet he can't seem to stop interuppting others before they even finish a sentence. It's actually odd to me. I've never had any issues with conversing with anyone in my life other than him. If I allow him to take up the air in the room, he's fine, but then the conversation is one-sided. I believe this miscommunication can be related to something more than just overlapping and cultural differences.
